Peaceful, Easy-Feeling Sale. . ..

About a month ago I met with a young lady who had recently lost her Dad. No matter our age, losing a parent is devastating and this young woman is in her 20's. We had a nice visit in the home she had been raised in with her Dad. It was her responsibility to make the home ready to sell and find a way to share the remaining home décor and furniture that she could not take with her. As we chatted, it was apparent in her words and from all the remodeling in the home that she and her husband were working very hard. They worked very hard to bring her childhood home to like-new condition to honor her Dad and his memory.


She took me to the garage which was filled with items he had stored for many years. Once she had time to go through all the memories she needed to keep, she had most of the remainder brought to my shop. As some of you know, I like to play music that reflects the lives of the person or persons we host sales for. Her request was that we play 'Peaceful Easy Feeling' by The Eagles in his honor. Our last Estate Sale at our SOLD IN 168 location is NOW. Sorry for the late update. We are making deals both days all day from 10-6. This is a liquidation of some display items as well.

First/Last Event


We were informed yesterday that the new mall owners do not want us using our space for monthly events and February is the first and last one. They want us full-time in our space and would allow us to stay if opened mall hours. Since we can't do that, we will not be hosting anymore events after February.


What this means to you, is the ability to come say goodbye to our mall location, buy some wonderful items as well as participate in our one and only estate sale at WHEN PIGS FLY. That's right!!! It is going to be an amazing couple of days!


We will continue liquidating items we do not want to to move to our new home (to be determined).


Our online shop is still being created, we are still viewing properties and some new opportunites have also popped up. In addition, our Estate Sale business is growing even larger. All that is happening is for the best and we have been preparing.

Meeting Someone Just Like Me

It isn't often I meet someone who is almost a genetic match to my personality. Actually, I had never met anyone who was until I met Shannon.

Shannon came into my shop quite some time back and asked me to consign some lovely antiques for her and her husband. I instantly liked her warm and open personality, as well as her beautiful red hair and smile.

Some of you may remember the wonderful 18th century hutch/buffet at the front of the shop we sold a few months back. That beautiful antique as well as others found new homes and we were proud to foster them until they moved on. These items were Shannon's.

Since my initial meeting with Shannon, I have gotten to meet her sisters, mom, husband, children, nieces and nephews. And to my delight, have been honored to visit with her several times. Each time we visited, more and more of our similarities were unraveling and I kept being intrigued to know more about her. Shannon is 33, much younger than myself and while I see myself in her at that age, I also see her as an older soul too.

People come and go from our lives daily and it is not often I find such a caring person who is as open a book as I am.

What I will take from her, is what I have been doing this past year and a half:

Believe in your dream and know that you succeed......

A New Year!!!

First off, Happy New Year!!!

So many changes occur year round, yet we truly are making some HUGE changes the 1st of 2012. Our Shoppe location is now open once a month, 2nd Friday and Saturday beginning in February; Our Estate Sale business is booming and we are working on our Auction services; A new location is being hunted daily.

My original goal has not changed, it is however blossoming into something even bigger than I dreamed. My only hope is that you all stay with us as we support each other now and in the future.
